Cannabidiol (CBD) is still being studied at length for a wide range of ailments, including anxiety and stress. Part of this involves figuring out the right dosage. What you have to understand is that it is going to be different for everyone, so it might take a little experimenting to figure out which dosage works best for you.

Standard CBD Oil Dosages

To start with, you can look at standard CBD dosages for different products. This also depends a lot on what you are using, the concentration of the CBD, and who you are getting the recommendations from. As an alternative form of medicine, it is something you will need to judge for yourself. To start with, some sources are saying that 25mg of CBD is good to start with, while the lowest dosages are closer to 3-5mg. Higher dosages are 100-200mg, so as you see, there is a very big variation in how much you use.

What are You Hoping to Accomplish?

Looking at exactly what you are using the CBD for can also determine what dosage is best for anxiety. There are many reasons to use CBD for anxiety, including reducing symptoms related to a panic attack, for generalized anxiety, anxiety and stress
combined, or to help you sleep.

For generalized anxiety where you will use it probably on a regular basis, start at a lower dose so you aren’t dosing yourself too much. With a sleep disorder, good dosages to start with are 20mg to 100mg, though you can go higher or lower depending
on your comfort level.

For chronic pain, it tends to start lower with the minimum amounts of around 3mg, then only add more if you feel you need it.

Have You Ever Used it Before?

For people brand new to using CBD in any form, you will hear the repeated advice to start slow. This advice continues even if you have used say a tincture before, but then switch to candies or putting CBD lotion on your aching joints.

Each type comes with different dosages that are good for that use, so don’t assume just because you were taking 40mg of a tincture means you need 40mg of the lotion or vape pen. Each time you switch to a new type of CBD oil, start small again and work your way up to higher doses only if you need it.
